Hale Balleja! Set your own pace...Upon arrival, we suggest you stop for supplies. We prefer shopping in Pahoa, where the Malama Market, located in a new and bustling shopping center, offers a wide array of foods, beverages and household goods. Other stores are also located in Pahoa's shopping center, which is visible on the right side of the highway immediately upon entering Pahoa when driving from Hilo. You can't miss it! If you prefer, a Safeway food store is located in Hilo, along with a WalMart and other major stores.
Guests are responsible for stocking their own groceries and personal toiletries. Hale Balleja stocks bath soap, clothes detergent, dishwashing liquid and basic cleaning supplies.
Hale Balleja features a CD/stereo. Please bring your own CDs. Internet is not offered at this time. An Internet Cafe is located in Pahoa.

The Big Island's capital and largest city, Hilo offers more extensive amenities and services. The old Hilo shopping district fronts Hilo Bay and is reminiscent of 19th Century Hawaii. Visitors may stroll through galleries, restaurants, souvenir shops and the old Hilo Market.
